Our commitment

We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation. We treat this as an ongoing responsibility: as we find gaps, we fix them, and this statement is updated to reflect the current state honestly rather than an aspirational one.

Standard we're working toward

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We have not yet had a formal audit against this standard, so we are not claiming full conformance. This is our target, and the sections below describe our actual progress against it.

What we've already built

• Every page declares its language (lang="en") for screen readers and translation tools.
• Pages use semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, footer) so assistive technology can navigate the page structure.
• Each page has a single, clearly ordered heading hierarchy rather than headings chosen for visual size alone.
• Animations respect your operating system's "reduce motion" setting. If you've turned that on, our hover and scroll animations are minimized or disabled.
• Text can be resized or zoomed using your browser's normal zoom controls (Ctrl/Cmd and +/-); we don't block pinch-to-zoom or lock the page width.
• Colour is never the only way we distinguish information: icons and text labels are paired with colour throughout.
• Every photo has descriptive alt text for screen reader users, not a generic filename.
• Every page has a "Skip to main content" link for keyboard-only users to bypass the navigation, and a proper <main> landmark to skip to.
• FAQ accordions are real, keyboard-operable buttons, reachable with Tab and toggled with Enter or Space, with aria-expanded reflecting their open/closed state.

Known limitations

We'd rather list this plainly than leave it undiscovered:

• We have not yet run a formal audit with assistive technology (such as JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver) or with people with disabilities.

This is an active work item, not an accepted gap. If it affects you today, please tell us (see below).
